1 Introduction


We have covered the basics of linear mixed model in Part 1. In Part 2 of this tutorial, we will take a complete view of fitting linear mixed models in SPSS environment. We will consider the SBP data that we have seen before, however, this time we will account for the baseline variables measured on the individual. We will evaluate our primary objective - the difference in mean SBP between the treatment and control groups - controlling for other clinical variables. We will follow the strategies of fitting linear mixed models including model selection, interpretation and presentation for the given problem.
